Conclusion

Improvements have been made concerning circulation on the road. At the same time there has been a reduction of head trauma.

It is our opinion that Governments must study carefully four problems concerning driving:

  • the danger of alcohol intake and tranquilizing drugs as well as narcotics, the selling of which must not be legal as in Spain.

  • the danger of a poor visual acuity or of an abnormal visual field.

  • the danger of cars the condition of which is not compatible with safety.

  • the condition of the roads with elimination of black spots.

  • the education of drivers (by television).
