Summary

An account is given of 4 cases of supratentorial extradural haematoma forming as a result of a decrease in intraventricular pressure due to a CSF shunt or to removal of tumours of the posterior fossa in patients with severe obstructive hydrocephalus. The literature on the subject is reviewed with special reference to the diagnosis of this complication.
