Abstract
An automated control system for a production process (ACS PP) of ionic casehardening (CH) on the basis of the specialized “Orion-4” control complex is discussed in the paper. The temperature of the charge of components, the power of the glow discharge, the pressure, and the carburizing and nitriding capacity of the production atmosphere ensures high stability of casehardening results, the attainment of diffusion layers that are uniform over the profile of the component, and the prescribed degree of their saturation.
