Abstract
The theory of Bang and Hansteen for theK-shell ionization by proton impact was evaluated especially for low energies and lowZ. The results were compared with experimental data. For values between 30 and 70 for the reduced energy (E/I k ) good agreement was achieved. Deviations for higher energies can be explained by the use ofs-waves for the ejected electron, neglecting all contributions forl≠0.
