Conclusions

The possibility is shown of determining the thermal conductivity by the hot wire method in the 20–1400°C range of thermal insulation materials in the form of lightweight and fiber parts and powders. The range of measured values is 0.05<λ<2 W/(m·K). The reproducibility of the results, the measurement of standard materials, and a comparison with results obtained by other methods are an indication of the quite high accuracy and reliability of the hot wire method, which makes it possible to recommend it as a standard.
