A comparison of two methods of calculating the dynamic structure factor for classical systems

Abstract

Starting from the equation of motion of the one-particle distribution function as given in the BBGKY-hierarchy Nelkin and Ranganathan and Singwiet al., respectivly, have developped two different methods of calculating the dynamic structure factor. We show, that both methods are equivalent, if one uses the same approximation for the two-particle distribution function.
