Parametric four-photon fluorescence in rutile

Abstract

Tunable four-photon parametric fluorescence due to the third-order optical nonlinearity has been observed in a rutile (TiO2)-crystal. AQ-switched ruby-laser was used as a pump. The produced idler wave could be tuned from 5900 to 6550 Å by rotation of the crystal.
