Levels in222Rn

Abstract

An attempt has been made to observe gamma-rays from the 3− level of the possible octupole band in222Rn occurring in the decay of226Ra. The gamma-ray energies already known in this decay have been measured with increased precision both in singles measurements and in coincidence with the 186-keV (2+ → 0+) transition.
