Abstract

The possibility of use of highly concentrated heating sources (laser, electron beam, compressed arc) for strengthening the aging effect in type N12Kh5M3DYu maraging heat-resistant steel, which may be used for surfacing of hot-work tool steels, is investigated. For solution of this problem the transformations in type N12Kh5M3DYu steel in the surfacing thermal cycle were investigated, the thermokinetic diagram of decomposition of austenite was constructed, and the influence of high heating and cooling rates in aging was determined.
