Abstract
A method of unitarizing the Veneziano model for ππ scattering, employing exact conditions on partial wave amplitudes which allow a minimization of the violation of crossing symmetry is discussed. The structure of the left hand cut (0≧s≧ − 32m 2π ) is obtained via crossing symmetry, whereas the far left hand cut is parametrized in terms of several poles, the residues of which serve as free parameters in this model. The existence of unitary and almost crossing symmetric solutions with a resonantI=0S-wave is demonstrated. The restrictions on these solutions are, however, not sufficient to single out a unique set.
