On the covariance of retarded commutators

Abstract

The Lorentz structure of the retarded commutators relevant to the electroproduction of pions and the weak radiative decay of hyperons is investigated within the framework of the Jost-Lehmann-Dyson representation, assuming a given asymptotic behavior for the spectral functions. In particular we study the connection between the covariance of these retarded commutators and the absence of Schwinger terms in the corresponding equal time commutators.
