Summary
Foliar application of trace elements (zinc, boron, manganese and molybdenum) and trace element chelates (zinc, iron, copper and molybdenum) on three week old rice seedlings had pronounced effect on the distribution of rhizosphere microflora as well as the percentage occurrence of certain soil fungi. In the absence of direct evidence on the influence of sprays on the physiology and root exudate pattern it is suspected that the rhizosphere effect is due to possible changes in root exudates in consequence of foliar sprays.
