Abstract
The energy distribution ofγ quanta emitted after a radioactiveβ decay contains information on the slowing down of the nuclear recoil from the preceding decay. Energy distributions ofγ quanta observed with the nuclear resonance fluorescence method for Re187, Sm152 and Sm148 are reanalysed. It is shown that the Debye model applied for the description of the slowing down can account for the observed energy distributions.
