Providing the optimum level of geological information in open working of minerals

Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

For the conditions of open working in magnesite deposits of the Satkinsk group we established the required accuracy of contouring with respect to the technical criteria and the optimum accuracy economically.

Linear extrapolation of the position of the contacts of the bodies of minerals from the overhead-worked steps ensures the determination of their position with a mean square error of ±1.3 m, which means we can eliminate systematic exploitation development, replacing it by drilling single bores in sections with complex geological structure.

It is desirable to carry out control of the extracted magnesite in the blasted block on the basis of its averaged qualitative factors in the interiors (without separation and selective extraction of the sorts inside the exploded block).
