Conclusions

In order to prepare gunite bodies of aluminosilicate composition, we developed complex binders formed due to the combined addition of liquid glass and a coagulant in the form of aqueous solutions of the salts of strong acids. The application of the complex binders facilitates separation of active silica gel directly on the surface of the refractory particles composing the gunite coating and, thereby, ensures rapid setting of the coating, its high strength, and reduces the losses due to bounce during guniting operation.

We established the dependence of the degree of dehydration of the isolated silica gel on the radii of the cation and the anion used as a coagulant of the salt. It was shown that in the case of gunite bodies of aluminosilicate composition, it is advisable to use less dehydrated gels formed due to the interaction of relatively dilute aqueous solutions of liquid glass and a coagulant.
