Abstract
The absolute measurement of activities by the coincidence method can be applied to the case of extended and inhomogeneously activated sources. The corrections due to extension and inhomogeneous activation of the source can be summarized into one correction factor. The procedure to get this factor is described. Measurements are reported for the case of extended Na24-sources, produced by the reaction Al27(n,α) Na24 with 14 Mev neutrons. In this case the correction factor is given in detail.
