Abstract
The process of resonance scattering is studied in a time dependent approach. A formulation is given where one can see the time dependence of the prompt potential scattering and the delayed resonance scattering. It is shown that the usual expression for the resonance scattering is obtained in an experiment where the detectors are sensitive during a long time. Switching off the detectors after some time comparable to the life time of the resonance yields considerable modifications of the cross section: a broadening of the resonance and oscillations are observed in this case.
