Excited energy levels in Ge72

Abstract

The level structure of Ge72 has been investigated using the decay of Ga72. Measurements of the gamma-ray spectrum have been performed by means of a 2.7 cm2 × 0.2 cm and a 4 cm2 × 0.5 cm lithium-drifted germanium detector. Coincidence measurements were carried out with two 1 1/2″Ø×2″ NaI(Tl) detectors. 56 gamma transitions have been observed. A revised level scheme of Ge72 is proposed containing 8 new excited states.
