Starkeffect of singly excited terms of neutral oxygen

Abstract

Displacement and splitting of 0 I-lines emitted from regions of high fieldstrength in an obstructed and constricted glow discharge are measured. On the other hand the Starkeffect patterns are calculated by means of perturbation theory. Theory and experiment are compared and found to agree within the limits of accuracy.
