Electron spectroscopic determination of the chemical valence state

Abstract

The electron spectroscopic method is shown to be a sensitive tool for the study of outer electron configurations of atoms in chemical compounds. Determinations of the chemical valence states can be made from measurements of the perturbations of inner energy levels.
