Zur Aufspaltung von Kristalltermen vermöge der Wechselwirkung äquivalenter Gitterteilchen

Abstract

The interaction between equivalent ions in a crystal is expanded in a series of coupled multipole transitions between the states of the ions. The possible multipole transitions are selected grouptheoretically with regard to the symmetry of the crystalline field. Thus the splitting ofBethe's crystal levels is calculated.
