Penicillium rots of gladiolus in India

Summary

Two diseases of gladioli namely, Penicillium core rot caused byPenicillium funiculosum Thom and a storage rot caused byPenicillium gladioli McC. & Thom have been noticed, in India, for the first time. Symptomatology, mode of transmission and perpetuation and economic importance of these diseases have been studied and are briefly reported here.
