Abstract
Accurate pulse-height ratios for α-particle and electron excitations are determined for single crystals of anthracene, naphthalene, terphenyl, diphenyl, diphenylene oxide, fluorene, stilbene, and plastic scintillator. The α/β-ratios are strongly dependent on the impact direction of the α-particles with respect to the crystal axes because of the anisotropic light yield for α-particles.
