On the theory of homogeneous turbulence in fluid with internal rotations

  • Published:
Zeitschrift für Physik B Condensed Matter

Abstract

The statistical description of homogeneous turbulence in incompressible fluid with internal angular momentum is made in the terms of both phenomenological and functional approaches. It is shown that in some region of scales the spectral characteristics of turbulence possess the universal behavior. In this region we made calculations of the kinetic and complete energy spectra, the spectrum of internal rotational momentum and the spectra of two-points cumulants of arbitrary degree. The main result is that the spectrum of kinetic energy in a fluid with internal rotations has the Kolmogorov's form “k −5/3”. Some features of homogeneous turbulence in a fluid with internal rotational degrees of freedom are discussed.
