On the rotation-vibration interaction of diatomic molecular impurities in cubic crystals

Abstract

Devonshire's model of the dumb-bell, subjected to a stationary potential of octahedral symmetry type is generalized to be applied to a vibrating rotor. In the framework of this model the influence of the interaction of vibration and hindered rotation is investigated for Ar:HCl.
