Das Atomgewicht des neutralen Heliums ist zu 4,00106 berechnet. Das von Aston beobachtete Atomgewichtsmittel 4,00216 wird erhalten, wenn nebst dem neutralen Atom negativ geladene He — Ionen als im umgekehrten Verhältnis ihrer Valenzen vorkommend angenommen werden.
