Abstract
The quasi-particle spectrum of the small polaron is calculated in a slightly generalized Holstein model by means of a second order perturbation expansion of the self-energy in the Green's function formalism. The results are applied to the calculation of the electrical conductivity of the model from Kubo's formula.
