Abstract
The symmetrization postulate in the sense ofMessiah andGreenberg is proved under the following two assumptions: (i) For each number of particles, one and only one irreducible representation of the symmetric group occurs in nature; (ii) Groups of particles do not influence each other, even not with respect to their permutation symmetry, if they are separated by big distances.
