Abstract
In holmium ethylsulfate diluted with lanthanum ethylsulfate we have investigated the transition5 I 8→F 5 at 4,2 ‡K using a combination of a Fabry-Pérot-interferometer and a high resolution grating spectograph. The hyperfine structure splitting of four lines was resolved; the hyperfine structure parameters for the two lowest crystal field levels of the5 I 8 groundterm were determined.
