Abstract
Bunching and antibunching effects in thermal beams are examined from the point of view of the statistics of the particles of the beam. A theorem is proven which enables one to express higher order correlations in a beam of bosons and fermions in terms of second order correlations.

The quantization in finite domains is far from trivial cf. Carniglia, C.K., and Mandel, L., Phys. Rev. D3, 280 (1971). The problem of explicit quantization can be byepassed by using [12b] a version of linear response theory
