Abstract

We report a participant-observation study of seven family planning agencies in a large Northeastern city that were investigated to discover the extend to which young men are encouraged by birth control counselors to be involved in decision making about contraception. Our results indicated that male involvement is only mildly encouraged; the implications for sexual decision making and for social service agencies are discussed.
