Motion in a double-well potential with additive colored Gaussian noise

  • Published:
Zeitschrift für Physik B Condensed Matter

Abstract

The overdamped motion of particles in the double-well potential−ax 2/2+bx 4/4 with additive exponentially correlated noise is investigated. By solving an appropriate two-variable Fokker-Planck equation in terms of matrix continued fractions, stationary distribution functions in one and two variables as well as eigenvalues and correlation functions are obtained.
