Summary
Infectivity of non-occluded particles of nuclear polyhedrosis virus infectingGalleria mellonella L. was determined with bioassay techniquein vivo and with plaque assay methodin vitro using SCLd135 (Quiot) established cell culture. A plaque-forming virus unit corresponds to about 50 ID50 forGalleria larvae injected into hemocoel for non-cloned and 0.1–1.0 ID50 for a virus isolate cloned from an infective plaque.
