Effects of various proteases on the glycoprotein composition and the infectivity of influenza C virus

Summary

Trypsin and elastase activated the infectivity of influenza C virus by cleaving a precursor glycoprotein gp88 into subunits gp65 and gp30, whereas chymotrypsin and thermolysin did not.
