Studies of single crystals in the Bi−Ca−Sr−Cu−O system by the diamagnetic shielding method

Abstract

The new method for measurements of real χ′ and imaginary χ″ parts of complex susceptibility χ=χ′+iχ″, low critical fieldH c1 and critical current densityj c in superconductors is proposed. The method is based on the registration of diamagnetic shielding in thin superconducting plates by a tiny Hall probe. Temperature dependences of χ′, χ″,H c1 andj c are determined for the Bi2(Sr, Ca)3Cu2Oy single crystals.
