Summary
The formation of 1∶3 (metal∶ligand) complex with phenanthrenequinone monothiosemicarbazone (PTS) has been used for the determination of 0.43-2.1 ppm of nickel(II) over the pH range 7.0–9.2 in 50% methanol medium. The complex shows maximum absorption at 520 nm with a sensitivity of 0.0023μg Ni/cm2. The selectivity of the method has been studied and the method has been employed for the determination of nickel in brightray G wire.
Zusammenfassung
Der 1∶3-Komplex mit PTS eignet sich für die Bestimmung von 0,43-2,1 ppm Ni(II) im pH-Bereich 7,0–9,2 in 50%igem Methanol. Die maximale Absorption liegt bei 520 nm, die Empfindlichkeit bei 0,0023μg/cm2. Die Selektivität der Methode wurde geprüft; diese eignet sich für die Bestimmung des Nickels in Leuchtdraht G.
