Conclusions

When the set timetables for the passage of cars are observed and adjustment is atuomatic, drying becomes stable and the amount of spoilage due to cracks is reduced.

To determine the point at which there is greatest drying intensity, we recommend the continuous recording of the basic parameters while the cars are passing through the tunnels.

The system used can be recommended for regulating the temperature of dryers as a reliable one, and one which operates stably with deviations of only ± 1–2°.

The efficiency of the dryer is increased by 10–15%. The percentage of defective siphon parts in the dryer is reduced from 10 to 1.

The yearly saving through reduction in spoilage has amounted to 17.5 thousand rubles (1961 price scale).
