Abstract
A spin polarized photoemission experiment using transverse magnetized samples is described in detail. We discuss the advantages of this set-up in comparison to the one used so far which employed the longitudinal magnetization (polarization) geometry. Data on Ni(110) are presented including oxygen adsorption results, and discussed along current ideas in spin polarized photoemission theory.
