Conclusions

A silicon carbide body with an aluminophosphate bond after heat processing has a high strength and high refractoriness under load at 2 kg/cm2.

It is recommended that acid aluminophosphates in amounts of 18–20% with pH=1.8–2.0 be tried as the bond for silicon carbide ramming bodies.
