Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

Incorporating small additions of talc — magnesite and surface-active agents in preparing kaolinitic chamotte and products based on it would reduce the water absorption of the chamotte and the porosity of the goods, and increase their compressive strength.

The positive results of manufacturing an experimental-industrial batch of chamotte and products enable us to recommend the introduction of the developed technology for producing high-dutyrefractories, primarily for blast furnaces.
