Conclusions

The service conditions of the coke oven standpipe lining were studied and the basic reasons for failure of it were established. A method was developed for production of large concrete rings for lining of the standpipes. The lining of concrete rings has a number of advantages over the lining of shaped chamotte parts including the possibility of mechanization of production of the blocks and doing the lining work and economy in fuel and energy resources in production.

After 1–2 years of service the concrete ring lining of the standpipes is in good condition and defects are not observed.
