Investigation of the spalling resistance of high-temperature materials

  • Published:
Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

A new device was developed for testing the thermal-shock resistance (spalling resistance) of refractory materials.

It would be of interest to evaluate the advantages of a supplement to GOST 78875-83 covering the air-water method of testing highly porous refractories for thermal-shock resistance, and to organize the production of an experimental batch of muffle furnaces of the described design.
