Conclusions

Many years of successful operation of the mines of the Chasov-Yar Combine, Chelyabinsk and Suvorov Mine Administrations have confirmed the advantage of the extensive use at mines of continuous-action units coupled with new effective systems of stripping.

Analysis of the geological conditions of the refractory clay and kaolin deposits shows that a large number of deposits have an overburden of as much as 35 m and should be worked by the conveyer-piling system using the ERG-350/1000 rotary excavator and the OSh-125/1500 swing chute without re-excavation of the dirt.

For deposits with layers of rock and semi-rock, with boulders, the conveyerless system of stripping using ESh-5/50 and ESh-8/60 walking excavators is recommended.

In further mechanizing the mining of refractory clays and kaolins, we must organize the batch production of rotary conveyers producing 250–350 m3/hour, portable belt reloaders with a total conveyer length of up to 35 m, belt conveyers producing up to 500 m3/hour with a unit length of 500 m, and other machinery.
