Summary
The importance of kidney transplantation in the therapy of chronic renal failure calls for a transplantation rate of 1500 per year in the Federal Republic of Germany. Though the surgical procedure is standardized, a complication rate causing 10% of transplant losses is still reported. Due to more cautious immunosuppression, the survival rate of patients has improved markedly. It is difficult to draw conclusions about single factors influencing allograft survival on the basis of small groups of patients, since there are a large number of immunologically important variables.
Zusammenfassung
Die Bedeutung der Nierentransplantation für die Versorgung chronisch Niereninsuffizienter erfordert in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland eine jährliche Zahl von 1500 Transplantationen. Das operative Vorgehen ist standardisiert, hat aber eine Komplikationsrate mit einem Anted von 10% an den Ursachen des Transplantatverlustes. Dank zurückhaltenderer Immunsuppression ist die pop. Letalität deutlich gesunken. Vorsicht bei der Deutung von Einzelfaktoren für die Transplantationsfunktionsdauer ist bei kleinem Krankengut geboten angesichts der zahlreichen relevanten Einflüsse.
