Vibroformed dinas-quartzite refractory concrete parts

Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

The possibility of production of vibroformed dinas-quartzite parts with properties practically no different from those rammed with manual pneumatic rammers and meeting TU 14-8-129-74 has been shown.

A method of adding ethyl silicate resin to the composition of the water glass binder has been developed.

Use of the vibroforming method makes it possible to sharply reduce the time for forming of concrete parts, to decrease labor costs, and to significantly ease the work of the rammers.

Vibroforming is recommended for production of dinas-quartzite concrete blocks of thinwalled and complex configuration with a maximum service temperature of 1450°C.

It is of practical interest to continue investigations on stabilization of the method of production of dinas-quartzite concrete blocks with water glass binder with the addition of ethyl silicate resin.
