Transfer machines for automatic refractory-production lines

Conclusions

Descriptions have been given of widely used mechanisms for automatic lines for taking items from presses and loading them into furnace wagons, which mechanize operations at refractory plants. These are drives for displacing carriages and grips for the refractories as used in transfer operations in producing items such as groups, rows, and layers and loading them into the wagons. Formulas are given for designing the displacement mechanisms and calculating the gripping forces to provide reliable retention of refractories on transport from the reception point to the unloading one in an automatic line.
