3. Colitis ulcerosa

Summary

Experience with 184 patients with colitis is reported. The toxic dilatation of the colon in 6 patients was relieved by two-loop ileostomy prominens and colonic fistula in spite of penetration and chronic perforations. There were no postoperative deaths. Proctocolectomy is the treatment of choice. Indications and prevention of impotence are discussed.

Die Erfahrungen bei 184 Colitiskranken werden mitgeteilt. Das toxische Megacolon - bei 6 Kranken - wurde trotz Penetration und gedeckten Perforationen durch ein doppelläufiges Ileostoma prominens und durch Colonfistelung entlastet. Keine unmittelbaren Todesfälle. Die Proktocolektomie ist die Therapie der Wahl. Die Indikationen und die Vermeidung der postoperativen Impotenz werden besprochen.
