Producing siphon refractories from vacuum-processed bodies

Conclusions

We have started to use pressed siphon articles (type S-70-300) made from vacuum-processed bodies. The optimum vacuum is 720 mm Hg.

The use of vacuum bodies reduces the amount of loss, and increases the thermal-shock resistance of the articles.
