Analysis of rotary kiln combustion products by chromatography

  • Published:
Refractories Aims and scope

Conclusions

The Orsat and VTI-2 gas analyzers used at present permit errors (exaggerating the true readings) in determining CO, of up to 0.7%, and H2 up to 0.2%, and CH4 up to 0.8%.

It is recommended that chromatographs be used for checking chemical underfiring in waste gases of rotary kilns.
