Conclusions
Chamotte with a water absorption of less than 5% should be used for making high-density ladle brick from Borovich-Lyubytinsk clay; it is also necessary to add 20–25% chamotte milled in a tube mill to grain size of less than 0.088 mm, with small quantities in the batch of average fractions 0.5–0.088 mm; the brick should be made on a toggle press with six cycles a minute; the apparent density of the green brick should be 2.30 g/cm3 or higher (higher density of green products and lower porosity in the fired bricks can be obtained by using a hydraulic press). The firing temperature of the brick is 1370–1380°C.
